Higuerilla oil has saponifying properties so it can be used to make low-cost liquid soaps compared to commercial products, but with similar quality and even hypolagenic properties, for them the quality of an emulsion was developed and evaluated. Soapy produced with oil of tartar and with the addition of flaxseed extracts. For this, 5 random samples of the prepared emulsion were taken and the physical-chemical characteristics were determined viscosity, acidity index, refractive index, saponification index, pH, foam level, free alkali and sensory analysis to determine the degree of Acceptance of the product, the characteristics were compared with Ecuadorian (INEN) quality standards, likewise the product was compared with a commercial sample, using the student's T test for statistical analysis. The results show although the values of the higuerilla oil had values of acidity index, and refraction within the reference ranges, however the viscosity, the saponification index and the pH were outside the established ranges, Therefore, the soapy emulsion obtained did not comply with the characteristics of a moisturizing liquid soap, particularly for the pH variable according to Ecuadorian quality standards, however the observations of the sensory analysis were satisfactory depending on the aroma and cleanliness; however, the color was unattractive.
